Steven Gerrard, The Finale

Steven Gerrard. The name itself screams Liverpool FC. The recent statement issued by Steven Gerrard and the club announced that the main icon of Liverpool Fc for ten years would be leaving at the end of the season. Many people have voiced their admiration for the man who has certainly been among the best midfielders in the premier league, and is hailed by some as Liverpool's greatest every player. The next 6 months speaking as a Liverpool fan are going to be cherished every time the number 8 is included in the squad.
The level of desire and passion he has shown since his debut has been in parallel with the roar of the Kop that has seen so much success implemented by captain fantastic over the past 15 years. A boyhood red, who one day believed he would represent Liverpool, had no idea of the mark he would set on the club, the path he has created is a positive one regardless of form, without Gerrard Liverpool would not of won half as many trophies notably the Champions league and 'The Gerrard Final' against West Ham in the FA cup.
If Gerrard left Liverpool as he so nearly done in 2005 to Chelsea, the club he went to would surely of won plenty of trophies, that's a given. The choice for a  player to substitute more success and money for love is a valiant and respectable trait.
The debate regarding who was the better player out of Lampard, Scholes and Gerrard is one that can NEVER be decided as a whole decision. Being as impartial as I can be, I would still heavily favour Gerrard as the best out of the three. Obviously people will disgagree hopefully some will agree, but given that Gerrard is in my view Liverpool's greatest ever player, I disagree that another player in the premier league can be classed as better than Liverpool's greatest ever player.
Lampard has played in a few fantastic Chelsea teams with a fantastic manager in the name of Jose Mourinho. Lampard has never truly had to carry Chelsea on his own back, he's had world class players surrounding him along namely John Terry, Drogba, Hazard, Makelele along with Mourinho as a master Tactician. Same goes to Scholes, the little magician would come second for me, above Lampard purely for his dictatorship qualities, Neville has been quoted on Scholes many times stating how he controlled many games to whatever tempo he wanted. Fair point but the greatest manager in the Premier league will of always had a more important factor in any game rather than what Scholes could do. Along with SAF, Scholes also had other players dominating the game such as Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney. Scholes was used more sparingly during his twilight years, Gerrard was never able to get this rest due to the lack of depth and quality Liverpool posessed in midfield. Steven Gerrard may of had his fair share of world class players such as Suarez, Torres, Alonso, Mascherano but besides their brief stints a the club, Gerrard has had to carry Liverpool off his own back for a number of years, and he's done it better than if Scholes or Lampard had to do it all by themselves.
Many of the worlds best players have hailed him as the best in the world, Zidane recently had this to say about the great man (See image).
Many other players Such as Henry have labelled him as one of the worlds best. Many people on social media have criticized Gerrard labelling him as Overrated. People like this are just simply trolls. Gerrard is one of the best players to have ever Graced the Premier league.
His ability is unquestionable, his desire is second to none, but carrying the weight of expectation of a massive club like Liverpool, is a heavy burden to carry, Steven Gerrard is exhausted of seeing the best players leave, Alonso, Torres and Suarez to name a few. Gerrard just doesnt have the energy to carry the club more, Gerrard deserves to win the league, a league, may that be with Liverpool or a club in the MLS. Gerrard has served us well, a true leader, an inspirational captain, a Fucking legend.
